As I was digging through my Ek2's to look for a "A" marked cross to help
out Martin, I came across this unmarked cross which I think might also
be a possible Assmann made cross. So I am asking for opinions from those
of you who have "A" marked crosses to take a look.

myself around.
First off, The core has the same highly domed pumpkin crown that is evident
in Ralph's cross and which I suspect in Martin's as well.
Then looking at other "A" marked crosses, I noticed that many have unique
characteristics at the inner corners. Specifically, the upper left corner has poorly defined
beading while the upper right corner has an odd looking center bead with quite a gap
to the bead above it. The gap makes it look as if the center bead is pointing at an odd angle.
The odd upper right bead flaw is present on a lot of the Assmann marked crosses that I looked
at. However some are more noticeable than others.

Another thing that I noticed was the outer corners on the 3 o'clock arm.
The upper corners have beads that come together in a cross hatch pattern
while the lower corner's beads come together more end-to-end.
Granted they do not come together perfectly into a "V" but at first glance,
they are much closer than the upper corners.

The oddities that I've pointed above, seem to be noticeable in several of
the Assmann crosses, So please, take a look at your crosses and see what you think.
I've owned this cross for 15 years, It would be nice to put a name to it.
Thanks for your help.

The outer corners of mine have taken a bit of a beating and it is difficult to compare them but here are some closer photos of the inner corners to compare.
It appears that my example might be an earlier one as there is no real die flaw visible on the right inner corner.
It does appear to match the example you posted Greg.

Hi Greg!
I see similarities with my cross at some points but also differences.
Picture 1 point 1: I see a ”dent row” on my cross I think I can see it on your cross as well.
Picture 1 point 2: I see a die flow here on both crosses.
Martin,
Thank you for the additional pictures.
On your cross, the outer corners on the front side have a very similar pattern
to mine. A cross hatch on the upper corner and more of a V on the lower corner.
Also, in the pictures of your inner corners, the upper right corner has that odd gap
between the very corner angled bead and the first horizontal bead. On yours, the
angled bead is less pronounced but the gap is still evident. I think it's a close enough
match that I am fairly confident that mine is an unmarked Assmann made cross.

Ralph,
Also--Thank you
Your cross also seems to have that odd gap between the beads on the upper right
inner corner. It's less of a gap than on mine so, you may be correct. Yours might be an
earlier stamping in which the flaw has not progressed as much as on mine.
