I do not like this Cross...The Lettering/Numbers are extraordinarily Large...I recommend finding a better example...I have serious doubts about Originality and the overall condition is not good either...These are easy to find starting at around $40 - You don't have to settle for a questionable example...Just my humble opinion, friend...
cheers, Glenn
Yes, Glenn is right. Go and look for another example. Besides the lettering/numbers the edges of the cross look weird, even terrible in my opinion.

Thank you Glenn and Rik for your quick comment.
I will follow your opinion and look for another one.
Thanks again.

A private purchase cross made between the wars. This is only the 3rd one of these I have
seen. They were supposedly commercially made and were never official award pieces.
Collectors usually don't care for them because of the issues posted above by other members.
My own opinion is that if your are looking just for an example of a true war time issue
iron cross, this is not the one for you but for someone who collects crosses, it has it's place.
I certainly would not pay as much for this one as I might for an award piece but for me,
collectible anyway.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
Would this be a similar cross, the ring is a replacement .
It's made of brass or a similar metal.
Hi Chris,
I think yours very well could fall into that category of being made between the wars.
I have seen one like this posted on WAF and it got mixed reviews.
Can you tell if it was stamped or cast? In my opinion, it should be stamped. All one piece
crosses that we claim to be original are die stamped.
I would have it for my own collection just because it is a unique variation but there would
always be a question mark associated with it.

It's two piece, it came with a groups of WWI items many years ago.
