Can someone tell me something about this medal and whether it looks original in the photo? I have already found this page myself, but it is difficult to determine what to look out for.

I wish that I could help, but I have never seen an original one of these in person so my
experience with these is poor at best. But be patient. I think that Vince owns ( or owned)
a few of these. I am sure he will have some advice for you.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
I have a few of these, but am no expert. Are there any hallmarks on the edge of the six o'clock cross arm? The right sword hilt looks odd, possibly a repair? Overall, the quality of this piece is not convincing, possibly a period copy.
These are the photos I have. I don't have it yet, but am thinking about purchasing it. For that reason I first requested input from the respected forum members here.
I'm not convinced the ribbon is period.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
I think I'll pass this one, as it lacks a lot of detail compared to other models I found of it. Like this one:
Details in the oak leaves, the words and the eagle itself.
What I do find striking is that the enamel applied to the oak leaves seems to have been applied by hand. Unlike repos I've found, which are all perfectly machined. Would that perhaps point to an original, but a different (less capable) maker?
This one looks like a silver gilt award piece to me, and these are usually maker marked. The enamel is very similar to what you find on Saxon Albert Orders.
