    I also found an original miniature ribbon to replace what was an obvious
    new synthetic ribbon in my 1870 Jubilee buttonhole mini.

    I've got a bigger and better one coming that I hope is as good
    as the pictures showed. I like to think that I am a patient guy
    but I hate waiting for items to clear customs.

    Very nice Greg! I really like these.

    Was there any reason in particular these were made? i..e were they made to be worn like a tie bar or broach at a less formal event etc?

    Yes, these were worn as a broach or lapel pin while in civilian dress
    and by proud vets after their service.
