Miniature 1870 Ek2

This neat little Ek2 arrived in the mail yesterday.

I also found an original miniature ribbon to replace what was an obvious
new synthetic ribbon in my 1870 Jubilee buttonhole mini.

I don't like messing with pieces, but that fake ribbon has bothered me for years.

Was there any reason in particular these were made? i..e were they made to be worn like a tie bar or broach at a less formal event etc?

Yes, these were worn as a broach or lapel pin while in civilian dress
and by proud vets after their service.
