I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
wow1 I have never seen one of them on a button hole one?
does Trapetz mean that they are very flat instead of the oval type ones.? if so what was the reason to make them flat? just courious? thanks, toot.
In the first photo with his field binoculars and his impressive EK1 1914, we see him with a triple ribbon bar, with wide ribbons: EK2 1914, General Honor Decoration, Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig, 'For Bravery' 1894-1918 and Hindenburg Cross with Swords.
In the second photo, an image probably taken at his unit barracks already shows the Infantry Assault Badge on his feldbluse.
The funny thing is that his ribbon bar is now quadruple and I'd bet the third ribbon is the Saxony Weimar Eisenach Bronze General Merit Medal 1914, with Swords...
Maybe when he re-enlisted in 1939 or 1940 he didn't find that ribbon bar with his two awards won in the Great War... who knows?
