The best thing is that it came from a “small town Wisconsin....” so thank you very much Greg. It is now placed in a good place in my imperial ribbon bar display case.

A couple of months ago I added two new pieces to the collection. I benefited from the sales at Philipp Militaria, where I have shopped for many years...

A humble War Commemorative Medal of 1870-1871 without any clasp on its ribbon. And a buttonhole ribbon with two miniature medals: the War Commemorative Medal of 1870-1871 and The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Medal (AKA Centenary Medal) that veterans used to wear on their civilian suits on special occasions.

Good eye Vince. I noticed something strange on the ribbon, but to be honest, I hadn't realized what it was.....
