    Sorry about the photo orientation, not sure what happened. When I saw this cross come up on a buy-it-now my first reaction was that the engraving looked machine done, but if you look very closely it is hand engraved with the typical script font of that era. My crappy photos don't really show that.

    Thanks for getting those the right way round. I'm always very cautious with engraved crosses, for obvious reasons, but this one I like. The patina is also consistent in the recesses of the lettering. Can anyone help with the maker of this cross?

    That core was used by Wilm, JWS, WS and S-W.
    I good, clear closeup of the inner corners might help nail down the maker.

    Agree, a nicely marked EKI, the location being known the World over as a byword for sacrifice by both sides.
