    Hello Everyone,

Whilst searching through the internet I came across the following photographs of paintings dating from before 1939. Some of the photographs are in black and white, I wonder if they did in fact survive the war or not.

Interesting. I cannot speculate on your question sir, but I would like to add that I'm glad there are others out there who appreciate these pieces like I do. Thumbs up all way!

I only had a quick look - the "General Brygady Gustaw Paszkiewicz by Witold Mars " is in public collection in UK at the Moat Park Heritage Centre - together with couple of other paintings by W Mars, but this artist was serving in Free Polish Army units in UK - date of the painting suggests it was already made in UK, probably Scotland,
I do not have time to check oother paintings from your list. if theywere in Poland during ww2 there are most likely scenarios: if they were in Warsaw during the uprising and in some public collection then- most likely destroyed during Uprising or burnt by Nazis just after. if esewhere then I am guessing by now they would be in public collection - most likely military museum -easy to find or somewhere among army properties on the wall - not easy to find. where did you get their photos? try to dig into the photo file metadata - if it simple copy of original digital photo then date it was made maybe copyright or author is written into data? your best beat is to call military iconography/ painting specialist at Muz WP, you could try at CAW but good luck with that as this institution is serving only its own needs for lat dozen years at least -standard excuse refurbishment etc. or call amjor auction hoses like DesaUnicum say you wanna spend serious money on those paintings - they will look for you, if you are serious about them start with looking where they were befor WW2, and check local museums collections that collect particular painters -I mean authors of each works... good luck.
