Nahkampfspange F&BL Gold grade????

Hi guys,

i have here a "typical" clasp from F&BL with all typical die flaws and the maker mark upside down.Set up is also textbook.I get it a few years ago from the son of the holder with a bronce grade clasp.A long time i believe in a silver grade clasp,but the set up looks typical for a gold grade clasp (gold colour).Normaly not seen at a silver grade clasp.So my opinion is going to a gold clasp with gone gold finish.

I must sell it for a new addition and i would hear other opinions from you guys before i let the clasp go.

You know these awards better than most Joachim but based upon other examples here on the forum I believe you could be right. Hard to say with the original finish gone though.

Thank you guys for reply!I have posted the clasp also in WAF Forum after the posting here.The opinions are a gold grade clasp.

@Adrian:Bronce clasps have a bronce set up,silver clasps a silver set up and gold clasps a gold set up.Thats the only point about my clasp to speak from a gold clasp.

Your comment is very helpfull for me (that you have seen other gold clasps from this maker with gone finish).I have showed the clasp a few german Nahkampfspangen collectors,who i know,they are specialists with the Nahkampfspange.

The opinions are different about the clasp.All "experts" have one opinion about the grade (sure gold grade).But one said,gone finish.The other said perhaps chemical cleaned.And the third say is re-finished with silver colour.

So it was for me very helpful to hear you comment stewy.My personal opinion is also a gone finish.Thanks!!
