"Alume" DDR cultery manufacturer?

I'm not entirely sure where to post this?

I'm trying to find some information about the "Alume" cutlery manufacturer. I know they were active during the DDR, producing just about everything for your kitchen. I was wondering if they were strictly a DDR thing or also existed during WWII. Reaching the end of my means: nothing in the books, nothing online, no museum gets back with me. And I don't know anyone who lived in Nazi Germany or the DDR. Any ideas?
