No, I meant another type of officer's carrier bag, instead of the suitcase, see picture. It was made of Lederol and I think used to carry uniforms without folding them. Were both suitcase and carrier issued to officers ?

OK, this is the Feldlager-Kleidersack and for the nickname, you are right, it was used by the Fänrich and officers to carry replacement uniforms ( ironed!) low shoes with shoe shine kit and dress brush in the lower part. This is a more limited use than the suitcase.
Without having any documentation on the subject, it is likely that it was to be in endowment
