Hello,
After the "Klassifizierungsspange für Angehörige des Fallschirmdienstes" - Classification bracket for members of the parachute service - (1960-1963) was abolished for paratroopers in the NVA in 1963, a replacement was sought.
It was not until 1966 that a "Fallschirmsprungabzeichen" - Parachute jump badge - was introduced for paratroopers/parachutists of the NVA and the MfS ("Stasi").
Fallschirmsprungabzeichen (NVA) – Wikipedia
The manufacturer was VEB Prägewerk Markneukirchen - VEB Präwema
The first badges were issued in 1967. As proof of the jumps completed, trailers were introduced on which the number of jumps was documented.
The first model, manufactured between 1966 and 1973, had a silver/silver-plated base plate, two short individually soldered metal wires for attaching the jump number pendant, a light blue enamel and a flat head screw.
The originals are quite rare. There are many copies of this badge in circulation, these are easy to recognize based on the features mentioned.
