In the area of the NVA / GDR here in the forum we mostly see "military" objects of all kinds.
Today I want to show you something "civilian"!
Today I received this, already relatively heavily used, Waidbesteck / hunting cutlery (Hunting Knife) "Zwote Variante" / "Second Version" made in the VEB Mühlhausen, together with various bayonets.
The dimensions of the "tool knife":
Blade length: 142 mm
Handle length including crossguard thickness: 119 mm
Total length: 261mm
Blade thickness: 4 mm
Blade width: 23 mm at the handle, up to 25.5 mm at the widest point
No stamps / stamp marks can be found on the blade.
On both sides of the blade there is a "narrow" (3 mm wide) hollow track with a length of 56 mm.
Pommel and crossguard made of brass.
Handle material: "Kunsthorn" / synthetic horn (Galalith?)
The number 5 is stamped on the back of the sheath.
I would be happy if you like this set, after all it is also a small part of the "history" of the GDR.
"Some Stuff" ...
