Yep, it is a rather well known image yet many people do think it is real but if you think about it how would such a clear image from that angle and in real time ever be possible in the period?by HPL2008
I am sure if we study it closely enough the will be errors, there usually are!
However, it is surely an accurate depiction of incidents that did occur.
@Phil, yes it would be during the period of tension when East - West passage into the Western sectors was restricted and immediately before the Wall went up.
@Todd, yes the NVA was the army but the forerunner of the VoPo (Volkspolizei) was the KVP (Kasernierte Volkspolizei) which as well as sprouting the VoPo in fact "gave birth" to the NVA

Right on. I was just responding to the title which (accidentally) had the same side against itself.
