Sorry I meant chassepot bayonets not rifles
I mean I’m sure it happened sometimes. Clearly it happened with your grandad. There probably isn’t a whole lotta data on it tho since it’s not a well known war souvenir for brits or anything.

I’m not sure if he wanted to know more about Chassepot bayonets or just chassepot bayonets being brought back by British soldiers.
