Hello to all

I wanted to take a moment to say Hello, and that after being a long time lurker, I have finally registered.
I want to say thank you to everyone, as the knowledge I have garnered from your posts has been enlightening. I have been dabbling with the idea of buying a few pieces from a friend of mine the last few years, but I have held off because the really good condition of the items had me questioning their authenticity. I wasn't serious about buying them unless I could determine their validity. He says he has owned the items since around 1982, and as near as I can tell, that's about when the counterfeits really started hitting the market. So, I will continue to peruse the forums, ask some questions, hopefully get some answers, and dip my toes into collecting.
