    Default Hello all

Good evening, my name is Rolph and I am a volunteer for Stiwot / Traces of War / Stichting Bunkerbehoud Dordrecht in the Netherlands. I my free time I am searching for information about persons and decorations awarded during WW2 and assisting Dutch and foreign relatives or assisting at one of the historical locations in and nearby Dordrecht.

Hi Bill. I joined this forum because I am looking for specific Dutch items, of the:
    - Regiment Kustartillerie (RKA, period '38-'40). My grandfather Wim was stationed at the coastal fortress: Fort aan den Hoek van Holland in May 1940, when the German Army invaded the Netherlands.
    - Political Prison camp de Groote Looier (Maastricht period '44-'45), as my grandfather Pie is expected to have been stationed here after the liberation of Maastricht as a guard of the Bewakingstroepen before joining the navy as a War Volunteer.
    - HMS Ganges (1945, as my grandfather Pie was stationed here for his training).
    - Dutch Submarine in the UK (1945), as my grandfather Pie was stationed at the Dutch Submarines HQ which were operating from the UK, before being transferred to the East.
    - Pictures of the escort carrier Karel Doorman (QH1, period '46-'48), as my other grandfather Pie was stationed here.
    - Hr. Ms. Piet Hein (period 46-48), as my grandfather Pie was transferred and stationed here and was therefore involved in the shore attack during the Dutch marine landings at Pasir Putih, Indonesia in 1947.
