i am a semi-retired Canadian who resides in Windsor Ontario Canada. As part of my efforts I volunteer as a history instructor for our local Elder College, which is part of the Canterbury College of the U of Windsor. I have written on Japanese-Canadian farms camps locally and taught about the War in the St. Lawrence , Battle of Hong Kong and other subjects. I try to incorporate local parts into my work. currently I am working on Poland and the people in WW2 - incorporating the local part of our soon to be vanished role in supporting the ex-pat efforts. For those looking at this topic the U of Windsor has a site called SWODA which has the 2 years of Fighting Poland online. I enjoy the pictures and posters so far on the forum. I think my uncle (who returned to Europe in 1946 a there were no jobs for pilots in Canada then!) flew a lot of refugees around but did not talk much of it. I also grew up next to a man who survived Treblinka. As a boy I asked my dad why Mr. Bekich had numbers on his arm. My father told me all he ever said was where he had been and that there were no relatives left. Even in a Canadian winter he was always outside - hated to be confined. Perhaps that is why I have always been curious about history and why people acted the way they did. Thanks
