Help ID WW2 Japanese item

Kia ora from NZ. I'm new to the forum and have been collecting Militaria for 43yrs. I've narrowed my collecting now to WW2 IJA... Recently I purchased a box of ww2 Japanese items, which I can ID, except for one. It's a cover of some sort. There maybe someone out there who can identify for me hopefully. If all goes well... there will be 3 pics. A group pic of all items minus cover and 2 of the cover in question.

Kia ora.... I've been collecting Militaria for 43yrs. Our family military history goes back to Crimea War, through to peace-time Territorial service in NZ. Collecting consists of personal issue equipment through to firearms and are currently a member of the NZAAA. At the moment I'm into WW2 IJA... with the aim of completing a full uniformed figure for display. Any questions.... feel free.....
