I must admit to having only had a casual interest in militaria until the last few years. I live in Zimbabwe and it’s frowned on to have arsenals of even defunct weaponry or uniforms. However in recent years I have found myself taking a deeper interest in whatever I can get, and largely this is in the form of old ceremonial swords, bayonets etc. being sold by struggling pensioners who desperately need funds as pensions have been totally eroded by our inflation. I am not looking to sell on - we can’t even sell on eBay and other similar sites from here, but one thing I am determined to do, and I hope that this site can assist, is ensure that what I give these pensioners is fair value for their treasured assets they are having to sell through no fault of their own.
