New bloke on the block.......not au faix with the sort of badges on here, advice would be helpful! :)
Good Day gentlemen/ladies,
I am here just to ask about some items which came to via a family member, my Uncle George a 1st day Normandy landings veteran in the Honourable Artillery Company.
He was a WW1 badge collector while at school in th 1930s and carried on his collecting during WW2 and onto retirement in 1981
The items were found in an old handbag that once belonged to my grandmother in 1998, she died in 1961. My uncle died in 1998 and we, my father and I, were given the job of clearing his house for sale.
The items I have are not for sale but I am just interested, I collect myself but to WW1 Lincolnshire Regiment and also South Atlantic Medals with the rosette.
These German items really are "not my bag" as it were.
I don't think they my Uncle George's "bag" either, his collection of British badges were mounted for display in the usual manner.
Anyway, I will post in the appropriate section of this forum.
Cheers
Jono
