Hello, I'm new here and would like to learn more on WW2 German history. I had a great uncle that was killed in Germany during WW2. He flew in the 99th BG 347th SQ. He was shot down with his crew on April 30th 1944.

I want to learn more on the German side of the war. I have collected some German rifles and a pistol. I'm looking forward in learning more here.

    Thanks, Lee

    Welcome Lee.

Lots to learn here! Looking forward to seeing your firearms.

Not sure if you have done any research on your Uncle. The 347th flew B-17's. Here is a bit of history on them.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Thank you Map for the link the the 99th BG. I was a member of their historical group back in the day, but never did sign back up. My great uncle flew on 33 missions. Him and his crew were shot down near Bologna, Italy and were immediately captured. They were sent to Stalag Luft III. While on the forced march from the POW camp, my great uncle escaped, he was shot and killed along with a buddy.

Thank you, Smitty. That isn't all of my family history during WW2. My avatar photo is the Mitchell Monument were a Japanese balloon bomb exploded killing 6 people. Two of them were my great aunt and uncle from Bly, Oregon.
