I am an Iowan (midwestern US) with some - but by no means much - knowledge of war collectibles/artifacts. My grandfather was in France from about 1915-18 with the Royal West Kent Regt. signal corps. My grandmother was a nurse in the first and second world wars. I've been told she worked during Dunkirk tending to the evacuees. My childhood was peppered with trips to the UK to visit family and one of my parents' friends was a former Luftwaffe pilot. I was raised with stories from the war and all the common paraphernalia: patches, badges, medals, empty shells, belts etc etc. I've got a few pieces which I think are collectible and one in particular that I look forward to sharing on this forum to get feedback and hopefully answers to questions that are over 30 years old.
