New member introduction
Hi all !
My name is Joran and I've just joined this forum.
I'm based in Ypres, Belgium and I've been interested in both World Wars ( Especially WWI since I basically live on the western frontline ) since I was a kid.
My grandfather used to take me to all kinds of historical places and musea and we'd regularly watch documentaries about the world wars together.
One of the main reasons I joined this forum is to get some help of the experts amongst you on identifying authentic german visor caps. My grandfather started a collection of helmets, uniforms, medals and bayonets a long time ago, and he always wanted a German visor cap. Sadly he passed away before he could find one at a reasonable price, so now i'm on a quest to find the missing piece to be added to our collectibles.
I've graduated from uni a while ago and I have a good job, so after acquiring some funds I started the hunt for the visor cap. The thing is that I have found two caps, one considerably cheaper than the other but both for a reasonable price. I hope to be able to put them both on the forum to see whether or not they are authentic so I can possibly strike a good deal.
Looking forward to your comments on my future threads!
