Hi all Im Lisa,

Am an Aussie currently in US doing a PhD... I started collecting Japanese Antique & Vintage Satsuma & Kimono about 9 years ago & have just acquired my first Wakizashi ( I actually bought it because I liked the case it came in even tho the case itself is pretty beat up - go figure...I took the wakiashi apart & pretty sure its a Showa year 9 so around 1935 I guess .... but Im hoping to learn more so that one day I can buy a nice one

As already noted it appears that this one is a fake. Hard news to hear but all the better to know. Each of us has had many similar experiences like this.

If you are dedicated, like we are to learning, you will do well by studying past threads post here as there is so much stored knowledge. We have some highly experienced (and sometimes straight talking) members here who are always willing to give honest advice.
