SS Dagger discovery

Hi all, a good friend of mine has sadly just lost her uncle and has been left an Aladdins cave of military items. In amongst the items is this SS Dagger it looks authentic but I am not sure. Is there anyone who can advise what is the best way to move all of this stuff on.
