Uniform repair

I have a severely damaged uniform. How can I repair it?

I cannot yet see your images, so do not know the nature or extent of the ‘severe damage’, but the first thing you will need is years of experience...

Repair of damaged garments, be it due to moths, distress or extensive wear, requires a great deal of patience, accuracy and skill in needle craft. There is no easy fix, I’m afraid, but that would be boring (!). The real pleasure in effecting an invisible or well-concealed repair comes from the time and accuracy spent... ask any museum conservator.

I look forward to seeing the images, when your membership is approved... then I shall see about offering more practical advice!
