A recent pick up, the Spanierschloss or "Cape chain" as used by the RAD, incidentally a few years ago I purchased a piece of one of these being sold as a buckle roundel, the dealer failed to see the four pin attachments and probably mistook them for the crease tabs and the reverse of the wheat sheaves compared to what we would usually see on a private purchase or enlisted mans RAD buckle. On the rear of the relic conditioned one were the makers mark G.W. and Ges. Gesh, I dare not remove the "Unterlegscheibe"or backing disc's to see if there is a match or otherwise. This particular piece was advertised in the F.W. Assman catalog, but as we see most times many sources produced the same types of goods the difference being the maker's marks.. G
