Re: Found this in my gran pa house and gave them to me...
Welcome to the forum Alex!
May not be anything of great value amongst them, not financially speaking anyway, but hopefully you will keep hold of them as part of your family history regardless. Amongst the pieces shown are a Black Wound Badge, NSFK pin, Luftwaffe insignia, German and foreign currency, Allied Military notes for use within occupied territories and a pair of Berlin Olympics pins. Nice collection, thank you for sharing it with us all.
Regards,
Carl

Re: Found this in my gran pa house and gave them to me...
Hi there,
Some nice little things, nothing is worth a fortune, a few hundred dollars all together IMO, but it's cool to have something like that from your granddad. Was he a veteran of the war I take it? Welcome to the forum.

Re: Found this in my gran pa house and gave them to me...
Thanks guys! I will keep those in my collection for sure! I am from Canada, and these are from my gran father's brother. I don't know how he got those, but there was also a arm band ( red band left shoulder ) with some blood on it I think... My cousin kept it and there was a medal with 2 sword across I think with 1939 in the medal.
Also, I was wondering, what is the "gold" eagle with the wings down "pin" the back is made with 2 small bars.
What is funny too, is that we found a grenade ( with the pin still on it ) I don't think it was still working, but we didn't took the chance. It was kept in a basement and there is a bit of rust on it. We are going to give it to the Army Museum.
P.S. Sorry if my English is not that great. French is my first language.

Re: Found this in my gran pa house and gave them to me...
The eagle pin is for wear on civilian clothes. The medal with swords is likely
a 'War Merit Cross 2nd Class'.
Why give the grenade away? It's a legitimate collectible and if disarmed,
a great piece to have.........!

Re: Found this in my gran pa house and gave them to me...
The eagle pin is perhaps for a relative of somebody serving in the Kriegsmarine (because of the gold), or an ex-sailor, etc.

The little angel with the Swastika is beautiful what it is? I would love to get one for my collection what a great gift

That would be Icarus (seen on many NSFK items), and even nicer looking on larger items that have not as much oxidation, and pennants etc.

A nice group of items , welcome to the forum and I hope you find more treasures .
Please post a photo of the Grenade . There are plenty of other Canadians on this site ,
any many languages used . But bad english is the most popular .
Cheers
