Happy New Year

I also don’t know this badge but the construction seems weak! There’s very little detail on the obverse. I also see there are countless amounts of these on the interwebs and in different colors. I’d easily pass on these

This is exactly where quality photos matter.
I found several of these on the web and a few had decent photos. Those badges are clearly evident to be cast. I presume this one is also.

How do you tell if it has been cast? Should these be a multi-piece metal?
Thank you
Hi
You can tell a casting by seeing burrs around the edges. On your example above….under the beak of the bird, on the wing, it appears there is metal that wasn’t cleaned off. There certainly were medals that were cast but they were also finished-off with a file to clean it up. This is a fantasy badge or a likeness of an authentic one. I’m not familiar with an original award so can’t say if it should be a multi-piece award
