hilf krankenträger armband for viewing

Hi all,
I just got this from Chrys at the Winterhilfswerk shop.



It hasn't arrived yet ( I hope Chrys is cool with me using his photos ) but I wanted to show you all.
For the unknowing, this is an embroidered armband of a German stretcher bearer. As I understand it, these men were regular soldiers with no medical training that were pressed / volunteered to assist in evacuating of the wounded. Supposedly these armbands are fairly scarce as they contained no banned symbols & could well have been employed after the war & so used up.

Can anyone add more or correct anything I am in error with?
