I just got this in the mail. It's in a little rough condition. Should I add polish?

It looks terrific mate, somewhat sinister, I can imagine a black mercedes pulling up with three or four Gestapo blokes jumping out wearing coats like that but it looks great all the same!
Thanks mate! I know it's pretty sleek and mean looking! Now all I need is the Mercedes!

Walk into your local dealership wearing that and they might give you one out of fear!
Heh!LOL! 70 years ago in Europe they might!
Do not use the commercial brands of polish as it will and can darken the leather!Go on line and get a good preservative type that is very light on the leather and will stop cracks and overall keep the coat in great shape.I have one i purchased in the 80's and its still in A-1 shape.Carl
Beautiful coat. May I ask how much you paid for it?
Nitram
I agree with your advice. I heard not to use stuff like"Kiwi" or other polish which contain wax as it causes leather to crack.I heard cream is the way to go. As soon as I got it I applied a light rub down of " Bag balm" and it's like a clear petrolium product. It worked nicely. Thanks for your advice.

I opened a discussion thread regarding this issue and the guys said that it's better to leave as is.
Anything you apply to make it supple or preserve it, will actually damage it in long term.
