Stamps on armbands are used to show the issuing agency and that it is their property. They would always be on the outside as one on the backside deafeats the purpose of the stamp. I have only seen this feature on reproductions.

No problem, I was always on the fence about this statement, (i.e. about stamps inside) But Bob has put it more succinctly above.

Thanks for the pic Pete very much appreciated - Sorry yours appears to be a different style of repro aswell. A Valuable lesson learned on this thread and best to stay away from all printed versions of this type of armband in the future.
There always was a doubt in my mind as to whether student armbands were ever produced in a printed form.
Anybody know?

I have never encountered a printed example I would consider period original.
