Some GI saved the denazified portion of this first pattern crash helmet eagle. That is my guess.
Somewhere in the world is a collector, dreaming
of re-nazifying his crash helmet.........

the story behind this is probably little kids playing army in the 1950's or 60's using dads bring back without permission. I like to think its that kinda story because I did that kind of things with my dads stuff, at the time could not understand why he was so angry about it
