    Hello Gentlemen,
Would like to share pictures of this newly acquired NSKK uniform. Hope someone will answer my questions. Thank you for stopping by.

Seller told me the tunic, pants, cap and belt belonged to the same member. According to the seller this was a private purchase closed collar version. Well, that leaves so many questions unanswered. Any wiz collectors willing to share their knowledge will be greatly appreciated.

    >Where is the M37 motor group from?
    >Does the silver and black ribbed shoulder board correspond with the M37 collar tabs?
    >Were high ranking officers the only members that wore the closed collar version?
    >Does the 1930 patch above the armband indicate this member was part of the NSAK before April 1, 1930?
    >Is it possible to determine the members name based on the M37 collar tab, ranking collar tab and his initials stitched into the pants?
    >What does the yellow piping along the top of the cap mean?
    >Is this ensemble a fairly rare one?

Thank you for taking time to stop by. Hope a few collectors will fill the blanks.

    Best,
    Von Ritt

The NSKK Motorstandarte M37 was located in Torgau, which belonged to the NSKK motor group Leipzig.

But I’m sorry to say, that there are a few issues with the tunic and the field cap

The metal numbers 3 and 7 on the unit collar tab look strange. Usually the numbers look different. Compare the 3 and 7 on lower NSKK collar tab 13/M79. This is the correct design of NSKK metal numbers

The color of the NSKK motor group Leipzig was emerald green.

The piping on the shoulder board of your tunic is black, which was the color of the NSKK motor groups Berlin-Brandenburg and Niederrhein.

So the piping doesn’t match the unit designation M37 on the collar tab.

The correct piping should be therefore emerald green.

The sleeve eagle on the right upper arm is black, which is wrong. It should be olive-green like the lower one in the photo.

Black would be correct, if it would be a late war tunic, where the sleeve eagle has been worn on the left upper arm instead of the armband.

Finally, I’ve never seen a yellow piping around the top of a NSKK field cap.

The correct piping of a NSKK Obersturmführer would be aluminum (silver) around the flaps of the field cap.

Addendum: The NSDAP Verdienstabzeichen/merit badge for party membership since 1930 definitely does not belong to this tunic. These badges were only worn by political leaders of the NSDAP on their party uniforms and were no longer used at all from around 1935.
