Hello Jannis. I half to say I m not convinced it's military. To me it looks too delicate in construction. I'd guess it's of the period, 30's 40's art deco brooch. Any makers marks on it? JMO perhaps others may recognise it as military, but I think jewelery. Best regards.

It is symbol as used by a youth-organization:
    Der Orden der Nordungen e.V.
The abbreviation e.V. is eingetragener Verein (registered union).
The three F's possibly are from a motto from the 14th century: frisch, fro, frey

This is what is said about them in the "Deutscher Jungenkalender",
the yearbook for the youth in Germany, published in 1931.

Excellent information as usual Wim! Thanks for the correction. So a youth workers/laborers union? Kindest regards.

No, not youth workers, but a close union for youth
in their recreation (a youth group like the HJ).

The text posted by Wim describes the Nordungen as "a tightly-knit action group for the Nordic interests in all aspects of life". Founded in 1924, this was a neo-Germanic/neo-Paganistic youth association that upheld ancient Germanic beliefs, customs and culture, complete with Shamanistic rituals and whatnot.
