An odd item, never seen a similiar one.
It differs from known RAD cuff titles in every way and one has to wonder why the unit's number (2/256) should even appear on a cuff title, when it was already displayed on the "spade" patch worn on the upper arm.
Presuming that it is authentic, one could speculate that this was either some kind of prototype design that was never implemented or perhaps an unofficial, locally procured cuff title intended for wear on work-/fatigue clothing which did not sport any unit insignia.
Maybe - despite its shape - it is not even a cuff title at all, but intended for some other purpose? Could it be a "souvenir" item offered in the canteen for purchase by unit members?
(Like I said, all complete speculation.)
I have never seen one before either. Overall I would agree with Andreas' thesis. I would go with the souvenir theory myself.
Worth a risk if cheap.
Cheers, Ade.
