I'd rather be A "RaD Man than a Mad Man "
Gwar: looks okay to me. If you have a chance to have
a look at it before bying, do feel the "eye" where the
chains is being attached. Does if feel sharp, then it is
practically always a fake. At the reverse you can feel
12 prongs. Fakes often do have the metal tang at the
back for positioning the gorget into a button-hole
and the lower tip of the big swastika is over the edge.
It is a pity it is heavily polished. Normally the tone is
somewhat matt.
From my gorget-book, where I do show one which
still has the official seal attached:
A great deal of praise and thanks Wim. !!

Not polished after the assembly or there would be some clouding in the sharp recesses. Must have been dohe before the script and badges were placed and before the backing added.
Maybe there is a polished version as well as a matt one?
" I'm putting off procrastination until next week "
Highly unlikely !

Sorry Gwar, I made a mistake this morning. Maybe I was still sleepy!
The gorget should be polished all over. I had overseen what I wrote in
my book, as well what was said in the 1939-handbook for the RAD:
All over the gorget was "hochglänzend poliert". There is NO matte version!
Yet another great find from the G-man!
"Per Ardua"
It appears to be identical to one I bought from a vet years ago.

Gwar, good luck with this one, it's a real beauty in amazing condition. Hope it works out for you. Bob
