    Hello, Today I am showing the RAD SERVICE UNIT ASSIGNMENT SLEEVE SHIELD that I received yesterday. After doing research in the forum, I found that the number belongs to "GAU XXXV WIEN, GROUP 353, UNIT 7". Before I bought it I looked at other ones online and I think this one is genuine but it looks very new. I need to know what I have. Please give your opinion.

    Hello, no worries, it is an original item, The Dienststellenabzeichen (sleeve spade) was woven and manufactured by Gunther & Windrath (GW) located in Wuppertal-Oberbarman, one of the bigger firms such as BEVO also located in Wuppertal, there were many different classes of arm spade depending on rank and affiliation, the one you have shown is with a white background and red Arabic numerals denoting enlisted ranks,

    Gau XXXV Niederdonau (Wien)
    Gruppe 353 Waidhofen a. d. Ybbs 01.01.1939, 1944 / St. Pölten, (vor 1939)
    Abt. 7 Kürnberg / Waidhofen / Ybbs
