    Hello,
the only ones I have ever seen of this badge all seem to be ground dug.

It's not a badge I would particularly want in my collection

    All the best

Wonderful find ..and it is a rare badge.
Unfortunately , it is a ground dug example but interesting no less.
Here is my example for comparison . That stylized Ges. Geschützt on the reverse is only seen on this 1938 Sudetenland badge and German patriotic badges from World War One as far as I have seen . I have been searching for the maker identity for a few years but to no avail.
    Nice find ...keep digging !

Yes Doug , more like a tinnie with a sympathizer roundel attached .
You see them posted time to time but not a common badge to find in the wild .
    Cheers !

The hinge mounting on the pin is quite unusual it looks more like a jewellery mount and quite fragile.
I assume it is a pin with hole mounting and the hinge is crimped in to place?
    Another first for me

Yes ...more like a brooch attachment or Austrian style that we see on the various early sympathizer badges .
Here is a close up of the attachment on the Sudetenland 1938.

Here are a few examples from the same maker . All patriotic pieces from WW1 showing the same Ges Geschützt reverse markings . Whomever the maker was , they made some nice badges !
