I have just seen this thread for the first time and I would like to know more about this badge if anyone can explain please.
As far as I understand the Werwolf organisation failed to make much of an impact on the occupation of Germany and was never really considered to be much of a threat in any case. Contrary to common belief it was meant to be a kind of Commando of Special Forces operation consisting of what today is called "stay behind" small insurgent type units but basically of fairly regular military format rather than a resistance type set up per se. In reality very little activity that could be attributed to such an organisation actually took place and most of the troops considered to be "Werwolf" had already decided to surrender when they were discovered. The idea as far as I understand was that they would operate in Wehrmacht uniform to give themselves the standard "combatant" status. This being so I wonder what the purpose of such a badge would be. Perhaps it was meant as a propaganda item or maybe a "veterans" badge. On the other hand, maybe it is just a fantasy piece made as a souvenir? I really don't know but if it is an authentic item would it not be very rare and therefore likely to be valuable?

The badge is from the Wehrverband Wehrwolf (with "h") 1923-1933. It has nothing to do with the Werwolf (without "h") at the end of ww2.
