HPL2008: you are right. I had made a note earlier this evening, but could not make a new post
while I was gone.
It is practically sure the photo is taken August 7, 1934 when it was Hindenburg's funeral! With
many organizations this black mourning band was worn that day. I know this from the Stahlhelm-
organization. I may have the dress-order somewhere, but here two images: one with the beer
and at left the Landesverband-flags and an invitation for the Landesführer from Südwestafrika.
The soldiers next to the beer do wear the mourning band; from the Stahlhelm members one
cannot see it as it is on the left arm, which is not visible.
Sorry, but the images do not have to do with what started this thread!! I just wanted to show this.
