Hey guys,
I just picked this up and wanted to share it with you for a few reasons.
The WHW pieces worn by the child were sold 8 months apart...he must have been very proud of these pieces to make sure that he was photographed wearing them. The second thing I didn't happen to notice until I had the photo in my hands is the fact that his metal shield is missing its stone! So even 70+ years ago they were having issues with these pieces...kind of funny if you ask me!
For those of you that do not own our books the pieces are as follows:
(Round Disk)
"Do not enter"
Sold on the 15th & 16th of February 1941 @ the Tag der Polizei event
Cassidy/Alexander Catalog # 41-13
(Metal Shield)
"Normannisch 1066"
Sold on the 25th & 26th of October 1941.
Cassidy/Alexander Catalog # 41-90

Very interesting Chrys and a great photo too.
I have glued back in several of these types of stones.
Must have been a problem from the start.
And he does look proud.

We just updated our site...lots of new stuff available!
This just came in today...and it's pretty rare! We were not able to track one of these down when we put out our collector's guide last year. Looks like we'll be able to include it now when we make a revised edition sometime down the road.
This was the very first RSS piece sold (October 1933)...the 'common' piece is celluloid featuring the same design. There is also a metal variation stamped in brass. You can view these pieces on page 11 of our book 'Winterhilfswerk...National Street/House Collections & More...A Collector's Guide'.

Many know me as a relic collector BUT in a bipolar sort of way I also have a hankering for certain WHW items. A huge thankyou goes to the efforts of Chrys & Joe so that I now have a full set of Helgen books ( Heroes of the Armed Forces ) and Hitler Mini-books.
Hope you like the layout as much as I do ....a set ( of anything ) does look good when you eventually get there!
( in laying them out for the photos I realised that I am still missing the brown 1933 book ...... keep an eye out for me Chrys!!! )
Cheers, Dan

I remember when I first completed the Helden series...I felt like I had really accomplished something!
Good job Dan...glad I could help out...hopefully I'll have that 1933 book soon.
