So if these are good, what are the telltale signs of fakes? I imagine poor enameling, for one?

I've owned several "Nationalsocialisterna SNSP" and gone over several with my scope and haven't found anyone with anomalies. There is a copy of the earlier "Nationalsocialisterna" making the rounds. This one is from the 80ies and been disscussed over at WAF several years ago.

Here we go. It's the "enhanced version" with the catch applied to a plate. These seems to have been prone to breaking and were called back and reinforced (but you can still find these with the simple soldered c-catch). This applies to the lower leader badges as well.
