My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

It looks perfectly fine to me. I studied them a while ago as I was planning on buying one but never did in the end. There's plenty of information about these in this page:
Golden Party Badge of the NSDAP
I hope that helps!

MG.

I don't collect badges or awards Michael, but I would go by words Big Ned once told me ..... "quality, quality, quality"
TR makers were of a generation that had PRIDE in their work. ALL fakes fall short of the mark ...... a sound start to any assessment I feel.

I agree... QUALITY is the word.
Very nice and minty GPB.
I agree: This appears to be a genuine large Deschler GPB with a military pin setup -- the highly-sought-after variety -- intended for uniform wear. I'm sorry to say that NSDAP Membership Number 82971 is not ID'd on my list at this time. If you do locate the name of the original recipient of this badge, please share it with us.
Stay safe,
Br. James
Jamie Cross @ Third Reich Medals does a great tutorial on these on his website. He also has a register of names and party badge numbers you could check also. Not liking the vent hole or pin tbh...Deschlers tapered slighly towards the end of the pin...this example looks squared from top till bottom and looks modern and poor quality. Images copyrighted or I would post you his example for comparison but go to his site for examples of genuine and common fakes and you will see the difference. PM me and I will send you a pic if you cant find it. Great quality though so I would double double check to be sure.
