Can I have an assessment on the authenticity of this badge please.
Also am I correct in my assumption that the OPFERRING ELSASS badge's were found incomplete and were intended to be painted?
Have any ever been found completed?

Your badge is original. I have seen a couple painted versions but I'm not sure if they were factory done. If I remember correctly they have a silver wash on them which would lead me to believe they weren't meant to be painted. Vince

I have one virtually identical to yours although I'd have to check the maker to see if that is identical. Mine shows no signs of ever having been painted.
