Nice find Kirby and IMO ..I feel that Haenel has the lowest step on crossguard to grip fit than Wilhelm Kober and JP Sauer...with Kober being 2nd in low crossguard steps.
A nice touch with the added Belt buckles

It looks better in hand than in the photos. I like this one except the dark area on the front and back of the grip. Don't know what would cause this. When you say low step does that mean the thin area of the wood on the lower grip? Thanks for the input.

Thanks. That is what I thought you were talking about but I don’t recall hearing the term before.
The term crossguard step is very familiar with collectors for many years ...but since you are new to the hobby...you have now learned the term and seen the difference as Michael has pointed out.
