    Hi Tim

The most challenging point is the chain mostly on these NSKK Leader daggers and unfortunately .. its out of my wheel house as well and would wait for Gerrit to chime in or other collectors of this type as well to comment.

The dagger and scabbard are typical mid period production...but the main selling point is the chain which fakers will add this to a Chained leader to sell it off.
    Wait for further comments.

Thanks Finngaill and Lary C. The chain is also what worries me as I have never had one or studied one. It has been offered to me but price is kinda steep.

    Your help is much appreciated.

I only see 3 links on the top. Examples I'm pulling off the forum all have 4 top links. Any thoughts on this?

Hi Tim. I looked in my NSKK reference book and it shows three and four links. There is also a picture of an officer carrying a dagger with three links. Three links is also correct. Some examples of the reverse shown have a maker's mark or quality mark at the base of the clip.

I would not trust anything coming from DG.DE and thats the example on the right side.

Comparing Tims request to lakesidetraders High leader archived example IMO I would say Tims example is correct.

Gerrit is very good with these NSKK leaders chains...but has his head/s currently buried in the Burmuda Triangle again so he should be back soon.
