Alex, unusual buckle being silver? I do not recall knowing of any party that wore a silver PL buckle, the buckle itself looks good enough though not my area of collecting. Maybe Wim Saris will know more if he reads this thread. It could be a mistake buckle in that it was never plated at the factory? Or has the gold guilt been taken off? Anyone any other ideas?

Ben Hello and Thanks for Your comments
For me this buckle was produced in the silver color
Once in hands, there are some high points are still looks " silver frozen "
not a dull / faint " naked " Alu
Pics are not the best, though.
Alex.
PS: and 2 pieces, buckle and keeper are produced at same way come from different sourses are located on another sides of the "Poond"
Alex, very interesting so if the buckle has silver frosting then probably issued and used by some organisation, I will have to start snooping into archives and see what I can find
Ben
Just reading around the web it is suggested that these were issued to lower ranked PL. If that were the case why do we not see these around in greater numbers rather that the usual gold guilt ones? Again reading around the web it seems that only a handful of these buckles have ever been seen, these buckles are quite an enigma!
