    Dear Alex,

I can only offer some half hearted comments about the buckle, although I am confident that Forum member Kurt D could be your man on this one.

The DSB has origins from the mid nineteenth century and I think that they are still going strong. A highly specialised subject and especially so, relating to the Bund during 1933 to 1945.

As for the buckle shown, it displays a generic DSB emblem and as such, probably difficult to date.

The rear of the buckle is interesting and I have never seen a Leaders or Officers buckle which employs such a device for affixing an emblem. Interesting and it looks professionally executed.

For me, an uneasy feeling that the buckle is post 1945, although I am sure that Forum member Kurt D will be able to shed more light.

Apologies that I am unable to comment on the brocade, as I simply do not have a clue.

    Regards and best wishes,

    David

Could you possibly furnish detailed images of the pin shroud and claws ?

    Hello David!
    Thank you for your answer!
Sorry, but I've got that much picture.
Yes me too, the buckle's emblem fixing is very strange. Never seen before this on other TR period brockade buckles.
I waiting for Kurt D reply.

    Best regards!

I also believe the buckle could be period with a post war DSB emblem on it, again not 100% and really a stab in the dark looking at the pics provided

    Dear Alex,

I have just been speaking with the greatly missed Wilhelm Saris (in my humble opinion of course), about this buckle and brocade.

Wilhelm and from perusing his extensive archives, suggests that both the buckle and brocade are modern and post 1945, as per O & C.

For myself, my uneasy feeling being confirmed by Wilhelm.

Original, however post 1945 and a current production combination.

    Regards and best wishes,

    David

I would concur with Wilhelm and David. The brocade is original for what it is, but it is post war. A search on German ebay will usually produce a number of offerings. These can be had with silver or gold buckles, with or without emblem, silver or gold braid, with or without stripes in various colours, and backing material (e. g. red, blue, green, black). Shooting associations (Schützenvereine) still play an important traditional role in many German towns and villages.

    Dear Kurt,

Many thanks for chiming in here and which is greatly appreciated.

Attached is an extract of a pamphlet that Wilhelm so kindly supplied me with and it is, Overhoff post 1945.

In addition, if anyone has sixty Euros to spare:-
